The role of the council is to support the Macedon/Mt.Macedon community to develop a community plan.

The council will work in partnership with us to implement our plan and, where appropriate, support priorities identified in the plan through the annual budget process.

Community planning process encourages our community to be as self-directed and active as possible in developing and implementing our plans.

• Bring groups and individuals together to begin the community planning process
• Support the community planning group to create a community plan
• Support community priorities and projects through the planning and budget processes
• Provide training opportunities, to assist groups in implementing and managing their plan
• Assist the community planning group with information and advice about ways of working with and representing their communities, funding opportunities, council and other government processes
• Facilitate introductions to broaden the community planning group networks to assist in the development and implementation of a plan.
